A class-action lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Connecticut Superior Court alleging that the Nestlé Waters North America unit of Swiss food and beverage company Nestlé misled consumers over the naturalness of its Poland Spring bottled water.

Suits were also filed against the company in New Jersey Superior Court and Massachusetts Superior Court.

In a statement Tom Sobol, the attorney who filed the complaint said, "Consumers purchase Poland Spring thinking they are getting a higher-quality natural spring water, but our suit will show that Poland Spring is neither natural nor spring water, and in fact comes from sources of a lesser quality than some tap water."
